I think that you should just tell your mom straight out that you feel that you need one. I told my mom that I needed one and she completely understood. Gently remind her that you personally feel that you need one and you don't really feel comfortable wearing camis anymore. You can go to a store and try on as many bras as you want and you will find the one that fits you right.
